Monthly Art Club Membership founded by Best-selling illustrator, author and therapeutic arts instructor; Stephanie Chinn.

What the is the Good Girls Making Bad Art Club?

Good Girls Making Bad Art is a monthly creative membership for women in a season of becoming, the tender-hearted ones. It’s a place to make art as an act of listening, remembering, and coming home to yourself. Through therapeutic art practices, reflection, and sisterhood, you’re supported in expressing what’s true, reconnecting with your intuition, and uncovering who you are beneath the expectations you’ve carried.

The truth is there is no such thing as "bad art", but this gives us permission to let our inner-perfectionist rest, especially for us women who have been "good girls" our entire lives, and are starting to feel the effects of perfectionism, people-pleasing and trying to get everything "right". It takes a toll. In this space, we let those parts be soothed so we can make honest, intuitive art without the self-judgment.

This space welcomes every level of creative experience, from seasoned artists to those who have never picked up a brush before! Skill is not the point here. Relationship with self is. Together, we tend a gentler, more trusting relationship with the creative process, allowing art to become a mindful, healing companion, one that soothes the nervous system, invites presence, and reminds you that you are already enough.

Oh, and most importantly…because we are living, breathing beings, and play is just as important as anything else in our self-care toolbox!

This is for the tender-hearted humans longing for place to let their heart be soothed, expressed, and cared for. <3

Who is it for?

This membership is for you if:

  • You’ve spent years trying to get everything right and it’s made you disappear in your own life.

  • You want to make art without judgment or the need to be perfect.

  • Those curious about making art and the benefits it can have on our spirits, hearts and nervous systems. This is for artists, writers, seekers, creatives or those curious about it all, at any skill level.

  • You want connection, belonging, and encouragement from women who get it.

  • You want a safe space to explore your inner landscape, not hide it.

  • You identify as an artist already, but feel burn out and perfectionism creating blocks in your creative life.

Pink Smudge

Meet your instructor: Stephanie Chinn

I may not have been the art teacher you had growing up, but I sure as heck will be the art teacher you need as an adult, leaning into her becoming.

Official stuff: Stephanie Chinn is the Indigo, Barnes & Noble, and Amazon best- selling author and illustrator of her debut book Here Sister, Let Me Help You Up: Messages of Sisterhood, Self-Care, and Body Love. She is a speaker, artist, and therapeutic arts practitioner whose work is centered around reminding women of their inherent worth in a world that often attempts to diminish it.

Stephanie is on a mission to create safe and healing spaces, for women, through the practice of art-making and will be guiding every live call.

"I have lived with the good girl narrative for my entire life. It has made me feel like I have to make sure the world know I am a good person, which in theory — feels harmless, but it made me shrink myself significantly more than I would have ever thought. It ramped up my perfectionism, anxiety and silenced the part of myself that just longed to explore this big beautiful life of mine. One thing I have learned through guiding women through this work the past 5 years, is so many of us hold ourselves back because we believe we have to be perfect to show up, to try. This has been built into us as young girls, and unraveling this will liberate you in ways you cannot yet see." - Stephanie

GGMBA feedback:

"My experience with the workshop was so magical and healing. Having no previous art experience, I was quite nervous about being able to create, but Stephanie's prompts to make it about play and not about creating a finished piece really gave me the permission I needed to explore."
