A 4-part creative journey to self-liberation, for women.

What if four weeks of making “bad art” could change the way you show up in the rest of your life?

Welcome, I am so happy you're here.
This isn't a traditional "art course". This is an experiment in what happens when we, as women stop trying to get everything right.
Together, we're going to use creativity to practice something many of us were never taught how to do: make a mess, take up space, trust ourselves, ask for what we need, create without wondering if it's good enough, and discover who we are when we're no longer performing “good.”
Because the way we make art often mirrors the way we move through our lives. And when we begin practicing freedom on the page, we might be surprised by where that freedom starts showing up everywhere else.
You do not need to be an artist. You don't even need to consider yourself creative. You just need to be willing to get a little messy.
This course has been given 5 stars over and over by women who have moved through it, I hope you're next to experience this freedom.
Maybe you've been a "good girl" for a very long time...
You think before you speak. You read the room. You don't want to disappoint anyone. You hesitate before doing something new, out of fear you wont be "good" at it. You have ideas and immediately wonder whether they're good enough. You LONG to create, but somehow even creativity has become another place where you can get something “wrong.”
Maybe you overthink decisions, compare yourself, wait until you're sure, or judge yourself before anyone else gets the chance. And frankly? You're tired.
Somewhere underneath all of those rules is a woman, and inner-child, who wants to play, make things and experiment. To trust herself, and stop asking for permission to live our her dreams for herself.
She's who we're making room for.

THIS ISN'T REALLY ABOUT MAKING ART. It's about what making art reveals.
YOU MAY HAVE ALREADY DONE A LOT OF WORK ON YOURSELF.
Maybe you've journaled, read the books, listened to the podcasts, talked about your perfectionism, learned where your people-pleasing comes from, practiced affirmations, or made the vision boards. Maybe you can explain exactly why you do the things you do.
And still... knowing isn't always the same thing as practicing.
Good Girls Make Bad Art gives us somewhere to practice.
Instead of only talking about letting go of perfectionism, we're going to intentionally make something imperfect. Instead of only talking about taking up space, we're going to practice taking up space on the page. Instead of talking about trusting yourself, we're going to make choices without asking whether they're the “right” ones. Instead of waiting until we feel brave enough, we're going to create while the uncomfortable feelings are still in the room.
Art becomes our practice ground—a low-stakes place to experiment with new ways of being. And slowly, what we practice on the page can become something we're more capable of practicing in our lives.
That's why we make bad art.

Weekly Explorations:

GGMBA course feedback:
"While I had done talk therapy before, I always found myself editing my words as I presented myself to another person, however, with your encouragement to create only for myself I have found a freedom I didn't know was even possible for me."
— Evelyn M

GGMBA course feedback:
"I don't say this lightly but GGMBA has been life changing for me, I am honestly more calm, joyful, and self-aware than I was before this course. I'm finding more parts of myself to love, and it's all thanks to the incredible Stephanie and the awe-inspiring spaces she creates."

Feedback by those who took the course:

Meet your instructor: Stephanie Chinn
Stephanie Chinn is the Indigo, Barnes & Noble, and Amazon best- selling author and illustrator of her debut book Here Sister, Let Me Help You Up: Messages of Sisterhood, Self-Care, and Body Love. She is a speaker, artist, and therapeutic arts practitioner whose work is centered around reminding women of their inherent worth in a world that often attempts to diminish it.
Stephanie is on a mission to create safe and healing spaces, for women, through the practice of art-making and will be guiding every live call.
"I have lived with the good girl narrative for my entire life. It has made me feel like I have to make sure the world know I am a good person, which in theory — feels harmless, but it made me shrink myself significantly more than I would have ever thought. It ramped up my perfectionism, anxiety and silenced the part of myself that just longed to explore this big beautiful life of mine. One thing I have learned through guiding women through this work the past 5 years, is so many of us hold ourselves back because we believe we have to be perfect to show up, to try. This has been built into us as young girls, and unraveling this will liberate you in ways you cannot yet see." - Stephanie
