Healing Through Art: Pet Grief (virtual)
A Therapeutic arts workshop on honoring pet grief NO ART EXPERIENCE NEEDED
Available spots
Service Description
Losing our beloved fur-babies is an incredibly challenging and emotional experience that we are taught often to push to the side and hear narratives around it "just being a pet". But we know, they are not. They are family members, and the loss of them is no different than that of a human. I know the waves that come with it — the longing, the sadness, the small moments of deep gratitude and beautiful memories that find their way to our hearts. In these workshops we dive into the magic of feeling it all, and allowing ourselves to create from that space. Within this 2 hour virtual workshop we will honor the space it needs, create safety + community within our group, and create a piece reflective of the love we shared with our beloved fur-babies. Creating has helped me move through this grief immensely, and I am delighted to share it with you all. If you do not consider yourself "creative", great! This workshop is for you, too. To support individuals through this process, this virtual two-hour therapeutic arts workshop, hosted by Therapeutic Arts Practitioner; Stephanie Chinn, will focus on honoring pet grief and channeling emotions into a meaningful piece of art. Through creative expression, participants will find solace and healing as they pay tribute to their cherished companions, and community in knowing they are not alone in the process. Workshop run-down: *Opening circle with some sharing and I will share what has helped me. *Guided meditation *Writing exercise *Sharing stories of our beloved (only if you feel called to) *Artistic exploration of how to honor our beloved pet *Creating a piece off of what came up (no art experience needed!! I will guide you with prompts) *Reflection and share (if desired, no pressure to share) If you want to join, but unable to make the financial commitment - please email me at Stephanie@stephaniechinn.com and we will create space for you. No griever left behind. This workshop is virtual, NO ART EXPERIENCE NEEDED - if you cannot make the live you will be emailed a replay next day! Supplies needed: 3 sheets of blank paper, a pen, and any kind of supplies you may already have (markers, crayons, paint etc...) In my sample pieces I used water color paper cut down into 4x6 sheets, and watercolor paint! Don't forget masking tape if you decide to use watercolor **WORKSHOP limited to 25 seats - first come; first serve.
